Who organises the conference?

This conference is being organised by “The World Federation for Mental Health” (WFMH) and The Dr Edward Koch Foundation.

When will the conference be held?

The conference will run from 17 to 19 October 2016, at the Cairns Convention Centre (CCC), located near the central business area of Cairns city.

What is the conference like?

The WFMH has conducted conferences since 1948 in different countries. It is attended by professionals, consumers and family members from different countries, and as well as representatives from universities, public and private hospitals, NGOs, public institutions, state mental health agencies.

Do I have to submit an abstract to register in the conference?

There is no need to submit an abstract to be entitled to registration. If you do not wish to present an abstract, you can attend all the scientific activities that will take place during the conference.

Can I register and attend only one day?

Yes, there is one day registration.

Are there special discounts for students and professionals? 

There are special discounts for consumers, carers and students.

What should I do if my abstract has been accepted but I cannot attend the conference? 

If you are unable to attend the conference for some reason, the organising committee should be duly notified.  If you wish to have your abstract presented, you can appoint a colleague in place of yourself to do so. If you do not wish to have your abstract presented, please notify the organising committee as soon as possible so that your abstract is not included in the definitive conference programme.

When can I register, receive my name badge and the delegate bag? 

Registration and collection of the name badges and the delegate bag will start at 7.30 am Monday 17 October 2016, at the conference venue.

When will I get my certificate of attendance? 

You may request a certificate and it will be emailed to your address after the Conference.  If requested prior to the Conference, it can be collected on the last day of the Conference at the Reception Desk.

How can I book my hotel room? 

The Pullman Cairns International is our preferred hotel accommodation.  This five star hotel is offering excellent rates to Conference delegates.  Use the booking form provided on the website or, if booking by phone, make sure you give the reference code to obtain the Conference rates. Are there special flight rates? 

The Conference is negotiating special discounts with a prominent carrier.   Confirmation of this will be advised as soon as possible.

Can institutions, bookstores and companies be conference exhibitors? 

Yes. Companies can sponsor the conference or book a trade booth.  For more details see sponsorship packages here
